For a very long time I found that no matter how great a piece of clothing looked I was never able to wear with items that complimented it and drew the attention to it, therefore making the invisible and the outfit ineffective.
For this reason, I sat down and started making a list of various different outfits I saw from a number of different people in order to see which pieces within the outfits were matched.
This was a huge benefit to me as well as an eye-opener as I found once I had the basic rules I was able to properly coordinate outfits with ease and draw attention to the piece in the outfit that I wanted to.
So without further ado, here is the list I devised on the back of a starbucks receipt:
Listed above are the items that could be colour matched in an outfit but there is free-reign on any other colours used for other items within the look.
However, this list is by no means exhaustive or "expert"-approved just a simple guide that has helped me ten-fold and hopefully you too!
Let me know of any other item-matches that you have found work for you.
